We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing critical rescue and relief efforts to communities devastated by natural and man-made disasters. Our mission is to alleviate suffering and support recovery through the four pillars of disaster management:

• Reduction: We advocate for preventative measures to lessen the impact of future disasters. This includes supporting community-based organizations (CBOs) in risk reduction initiatives like building earthquake-resistant structures and promoting flood preparedness plans.

• Readiness: We prepare communities for potential disasters by providing training and resources. This includes training on emergency response protocols, first aid, and evacuation procedures.

• Response: In the immediate aftermath of a disaster, we mobilize our teams and partner with CBOs to deliver critical aid, including search and rescue, food, water, shelter, and medical care.

• Recovery: We help communities rebuild their lives and livelihoods through long-term reconstruction projects and economic development initiatives.

Equipping Communities for Resilience:

HANDS International recognizes the importance of empowering local communities to respond effectively to disasters. We offer comprehensive disaster management training programs for Community Based Organizations (CBOs) – equipping them with the knowledge and skills to implement critical response measures.

• 2010 & 2022 Pakistan Floods: We delivered emergency aid and provided long-term recovery assistance to families who lost their homes and livelihoods.

• 2015 Nepal Earthquake: Our teams provided medical care, search and rescue operations, and helped rebuild damaged infrastructure.

• Jungle Refugee Camp Fire (Calais, France) & Rohingya Refugee Camp Fire (Bangladesh): We responded swiftly to these devastating fires, providing emergency shelter, food, and emotional support to displaced families.
