Life in the refugee camps of Bangladesh is extremely
challenging. For children, who make up more than half of the refugee
population, it is even more so.
The conditions in the camps are dangerous. Children have
little access to child friendly spaces. They face serious protection risks
including child labour, trafficking and child marriage.
Most Rohingya refugees are children Donate

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah’s Messenger (SAW) as
saying, “The best house among the Muslims is one where an orphan is well
treated, and the worst house among the Muslims is one where an orphan is badly
treated.”
The Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be
upon him, said:
“I will be like this in Jannah with the person who takes
care of an orphan.”
The Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, raised his forefinger and middle finger by way of illustration. (Sahih al-Bukhari, Kitab al-Adab)
"…the
person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise…”
(Bukhari)

£5
Rozia is 9
years old. At the age of six, she witnessed the killing of her father and her
siblings. Rozia herself survived 3 blows to her head. £5 enables Rozia to attend a class with other
children and buy the necessary school materials. These are private-tutor-led
home-schools. No formal schools exist and the informal ones are closed because
of Covid lockdown.
£20
Osman is an
older orphan. His parents were killed in Tula Toli, Myanmar. Now aged 14, he
has received very little education. He felt reluctant to attend informal
schools when they were operating because of his lack of earlier schooling. The
£20 allowed his foster family to retain a private tutor for him. For some other
orphans, the £20 partly goes partly towards family food support.
£40
Saidul Islam’s mother died soon after his birth. Less than
two months old now, he is with his paternal aunt. The foster parents agreed to
keep him if they were given some family support as they have a child of their
own. £40 will help Saidul Islam and is
family. Others who receive this amount use it for education and family food
support.
